LEADERSHIP COHORT REGISTRATION
At Redemption, we know that leadership is vital to an organization's health. Scripture says, that without leadership the people perish. All of North Africa needed Joseph. The God-fearing refugees needed Moses. The fearful Israelites needed Joshua and Caleb. The early church needed Peter, Timothy, Paul, and Silas. What would those people's stories, or ours for that matter, be without great leadership?
The famous American leader and well-known author, John Maxwell, says "Everything rises and falls on leadership." If that is true--and we believe it is--then leadership has to be a priority for any organization hoping to do great things. (And The Church is no different.) At Redemption, we work not only to find great leadership, like an NBA scout might, but we also work to build great leadership, like a high school coach might.
How do we build great leaders? The beginning place is the least common denominator, Sunday services. We believe that every Sunday you will be able to pick up leadership lessons, both spiritual in nature and also generally applicable in all areas of your life. Secondly, we offer a Leadership Cohort that runs for 2 years ultimately but is cut up into four independent six-week long semesters. Our current Leadership Cohort semester begins October 17th and ends December 5th. (Taking breaks for Halloween and Thanksgiving.) The meetings will take place at Pastor Cory's house in Glendale.
The purpose of this cohort is to both strengthen and grow YOU as a leader and in turn to strengthen and grow YOUR church.
At Redemption, we believe the words of John Maxwell, “Leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less.” And the words of Craig Groeschel, “When the leader gets better everyone gets better.” At Redemption, we know if we are going to accomplish our big hairy audacious goal to help the people of Kirkwood and the surrounding areas meet, know, and live for Jesus then we MUST have a strong culture of leadership.
Many leadership training systems and programs work to train a leader in one area, maybe two at most, but rarely more than that. This cohort will be very different. We know we are biting off a lot, but in the six-week semesters that we will be meeting it is our goal to train the aspiring leaders of Redemption in three different areas: 1. Spiritual maturity 2. Basic leadership chops 3. Redemption DNA and culture.
